ABA Therapy: This intensive program is offered on a 1:1 ratio with a trained ABA therapist and is designed to help prepare children for successful integration into classrooms and elementary school. ABA therapy is usually scheduled for a minimum of 10 hours per week. Typically, this program is paired with our morning preschool program and offered from 1:00pm to 3:00pm or 4:00pm. This allows for direct instruction and teaching in the afternoons and skill practice and generalization can occur throughout the morning preschool programming. ABA therapy programming may be available for those children not yet ready for classroom settings, or those who have graduated on to elementary school, depending on availability and scheduling.
Social Skills: The social skills group schedule is Monday to Friday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The curriculum is broken down into themes following a sequential flow of lessons such as: Feelings, social interaction, communication, imagination & flexible thinking (including sharing varied interests and how to accept change in rules & routines), Proper manners, dealing with stress, and dealing with behavior. The first half of each session includes direct instruction concerning the theme through video modeling, reading stories, puppet theatre, games, group discussions, while the second half of each session is devoted to fostering age-appropriate play skills and group interaction.
