Specialized Developmental Services
1:1 Individualized Therapy
Our intensive 1:1 program with a trained Instructor Therapist prepares children for successful classroom and elementary school integration. Using VB-ABA (Verbal Behavior Applied Behavior Analysis), we focus on teaching the purpose behind different forms of communication, helping children use language effectively.
This program pairs with our morning program, offering direct instruction in the afternoons and skill practice in the mornings. It's also available for children not yet ready for a classroom or those transitioning to elementary school, based on availability.
Social Skills
The social skills curriculum is broken down into themes following a sequential flow of lessons such as: Feelings, social interaction and communication, imagination & flexible thinking (including: sharing varied interests and how to accept change in rules & routines), social manners, dealing with stress, and dealing with behaviour. The first half of each session includes direct instruction concerning the theme through video modelling, reading stories, puppet theatre, games, group discussions, while the second half of each session is devoted to fostering age appropriate play skills and group interaction.
Other Therapies and Services
In addition to our own services and programming we have also partnered with four amazing, accredited professionals to offer services including: Speech and Language Therapy, Music Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
Early Intervention Services
Every child develops in their own unique way. When additional support is beneficial, our interdisciplinary team works closely with families and educators to provide individualized, evidence-informed services that are thoughtfully integrated into the preschool day. Our goal is to help every child participate, learn, and thrive alongside their peers while preserving the joy, curiosity, and wonder of childhood.
The Little Red Playhouse brings together experienced educators and a multidisciplinary team of professionals to support children's communication, learning, social-emotional development, motor skills, and independence. Working in partnership with families, we create personalized strategies that help each child reach their full potential in an inclusive, play-based environment.
